I was skeptical about House of Pizza, since I never really loved the look of the shopping center. Seems like a little strip mall plaza that you would buy paneling and plumbing supplies in, and then in the a pocket of the strip is this pizzeria. It is a bit bleak inside. The server was very polite. A nice woman with a heavy Greek accent behind the counter asked me what I wanted.
I ordered 12 slice pizza with one topping and hot wings; my total price was just under 20 dollars. Pizza had great crisp crust that was textured and tasted decent. The cheese was adequate, and sauce had just the right bit of saltiness and a bit of sweet. The weight of the slice was impressive, and although I didn't absolutely think it was one of the best I have had, I would really enjoy going back and trying one fresh out of the oven... -

One and Done!
My girlfriend and I ordered a 12 cut pie with meatball, a caesar salad and a greek salad. I call, place the order for pickup and the gentleman taking my order repeated my order back to me to ensure it was accurate. We get to the place, and it was pretty much empty. There were a few people talking in a booth and it looked like one other order on the oven top for. Odd seeing a desolate pizza place on a Friday night.
We get home to find that we received a pepperoni pizza, a greek salad and a tossed salad ?!?!? How the hell do you screw up an order so easy; especially after you read it back to your customer to confirm it. I then spent nearly 30 minutes calling the place back to tell them of the error. Only to have them never pick up the phone. We decided to just eat the pepperoni but couldn't enjoy it because it was ridiculously over cooked.
NEVER AGAIN!!! -

This has been my "go to" spot for Pizza, Wings, & Calzones for years. Between this place, Inferno, & Doms, I like all 3. Inferno has the best prices, Doms is really good, but the food from Mechanicville House of Pizza takes the win overall based on which one I think of first if I'm starving and ready to order.

Review is based solely off of their pizza. It's a big no go for me, so many other places make better pizza, however this place isn't fully on my list of "places not to go to" so I will update this review once I try other things.

I stopped for a brief lunch break at Mechanicville House of Pizza, which is located in the Park Plaza next to Rite Aid. The place is order at the counter and there's also table seating nearby.
This pizza shop offers pizza (4 cut, 8 cut, 12 cut sq, 24 cut sq, & slices), calzones, salads, grinders (hot), subs (cold), Italian dinners, wings, appetizers, potato wedges, and Pepsi products from the coolers. Several pizza and wings deals are offered and they also offer several specials including buy 3 pizzas get one free of the same size (4, 8, or 12 cut) and buy 4 dozen chicken wings get one dozen free. Pizza slices and soda deals are also offered too.
For lunch, I ordered 2 cheese pizza slices ($1.75 each), which just came out of the oven after I arrived. The cheese pizza slices had a firm soft crust, topped with the right amount of pizza sauce and lots of melted mozzarella cheese (browned). The pizza slices were very similar to the pizza slices I had at Newest Pizza in Schenectady except with much less grease here.
Overall, the pizza slices were good at a fair price and prompt service.
